This readme explains how to run the update program for
Server Administrator version 1.1 with Instrumentation Service 4.6.0
installed on PowerEdge 6400, 6450 systems. The update correct a known
issue reported on Instrumentation Service version 4.6.0.

DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM CORRECTED IN THIS UPDATE

This update corrects the following problems in Server Administrator with
Instrumentation Service version 4.6.0.

DEGRADED SYSTEM PERFORMANCE
----------------------------------------------------------------------

When the system is running under stressed conditions, performance is 
degraded. This update adjusts the intervals of monitoring the environmental
sensors to balance system performance. This problem exists only on 
PowerEdge 6400 and 6450 systems.

This update corrects this problem.

INSTALLATION OF THE UPDATE PACKAGE ON MANAGED SYSTEMS RUNNING
WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEMS

BEFORE INSTALLING THE UPDATE
----------------------------------------

1. Ensure that Server Administrator version 1.1 with Instrumentation Service
   version 4.6.0 is installed on the PowerEdge system.

2. Extract files from the self-extracting zip file, "IS460BWin.exe",
   to a system running either the Windows 2000 Server Family or 
   Windows NT operating system.

INSTALLING THE UPDATE
----------------------------------------
 
1. In Windows Explorer, double-click "update.exe" located in the
   OMSA460B directory where you unzipped the self-extracting zip file.

2. Click "Update" when the update is installed. A completion message 
   box displays.

UNINSTALLING THE UPDATE
----------------------------------------

1. Open "Command Prompt" Windown.

2. Change Directory to "C:\Program Files\Dell\OpenManage\Updates"

3. Enter the command "OMSA460B -u OMSA460B"

When the uninstallation has completed, the original module is returned 
to the package.
