Background Information ---------------------------------------------- On Array Manager versions 3.1, 3.1.1, 3.1.2, 3.1.3, 3.2.0, 3.2.1,3.3.0 and 3.3.1, the SNMP service may crash when Array Manager is loaded on the system and the SNMP service is running. Traps may not go out if the Operating System Application Event Log is full and set to overwrite events. On version 3.3.0 and 3.3.1, the CPU may get overloaded when the Operating System Application Event Log is cleared. The root cause of the problem is the Array Manager SNMP extension agent, SNMPExt.dll. The Array Manager patch is only required for the WINDOWS 2000 and WINDOWS NT operating systems. ---------------------------------------------- II. Patch Overview ---------------------------------------------- By applying the patch, the following files will be replaced: SNMPExt.dll [Array Manager Installation folder] arymgr.mib [MIB subfolder] The original files will be saved with .ori extensions. The changes do not take effect until the SNMP service is restarted. The patch contains the following files: SNMPExt.dll - The updated Array Manager SNMP extension agent arymgr.mib - MIB required for updated extension agent snmppatch.exe - Program that installs the patch readme.txt - This file ---------------------------------------------- III.
