This update supports the following: System: PowerEdge 4400 Operating Systems: Red Hat Linux 7.1 and 7.2 Always see the Dell Support website at support.dell.com for the most current information. ##################################################################### DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM CORRECTED IN THIS UPDATE ##################################################################### This update corrects the following problems in Server Administrator with Instrumentation Service version 4.5.1. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- INCORRECTLY REPORT POWER SUPPLY 3 EVENTS WHEN THERE IS NOT EXISTS A POWER SUPPLY 3 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- When there is not exist a third Power Supply in the system, some Power Supply 3 events are reported by the Instrumentation Service. This problem exists only on the PowerEdge 4400 systems. This update corrects this problem. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ECC Thresholds ---------------------------------------------------------------------- This update corrects the threshold for ECC memory corrections reporting to be consistent with industry guidelines. This threshold is designed to provide Dell customers with indications of issues in memory due to the number of memory corrections that have been detected. An alarm is logged and sent when this threshold is exceeded. ====================================================================== INSTALLATION OF THE UPDATE PACKAGE ON MANAGED NODES RUNNING RED HAT LINUX 7.1 AND 7.2 OPERATING SYSTEMS ====================================================================== NOTE: This update installs by using a shell script, "omsa451D.sh". If Server Administrator Instrumentation Service is running on your system when you run the update shell script, the script stops Server Administrator Instrumentation Service. After the script completes the update, it restarts Server Administrator Instrumentation Service if the service was running before you executed the update script. ---------------------------------------- INSTALLING THE UPDATE ---------------------------------------- 1. Download file form Dell support web site. 2. unpack file 3. Log in as root. 4. Change to the directory that contains the update. The directory should be the same directory that contains this readme file. 5. To run the update, type: ./omsa451d.sh The update installation script displays a message stating whether the update installed successfully. ---------------------------------------- UNINSTALLING THE UPDATE ---------------------------------------- 1.
