Release Notes for Dell(TM) PowerSuites 3.0 - ARCserve 7.0 for Red Hat Linux 7.0 build 925 Supported operating systems: Red Hat Linux versions 6.2, 7.0, and 7.1 * LTO Media Type field may be incorrect in Device Manager * InoculateIT environment variable may not be removed after ARCServeIT is uninstalled * ARCServe does not correctly identify tape devices when more than 10 total SCSI devices are installed on the server ======================================================== LTO "Media Type" field may be incorrect in Device Manager ======================================================== ARCServeIT may intermittently display the "Media Type" of LTO tapes as UNKNOWN or QIC40. This does not affect data reliability or the functionality of ARCServeIT. ======================================================================================= InoculateIT environment variable may not be removed after ARCServeIT is uninstalled ======================================================================================= After removing ARCServeIT, the environment variables set by the InoculateIT program may remain set. To remove these variables, edit the /etc/profile file with a text editor, and remove any lines containing InoculateIT or Avengine. ======================================================================================================================= ARCserve 7.0 does not correctly identify tape devices when more than 10 total SCSI devices are installed on the server ======================================================================================================================= ARCserve 7.0 does not correctly map SCSI devices when more than 10 total SCSI devices are installed on the server. Users may find missing devices and mismatched SCSI IDs when starting ARCserve 7.0. A software update corrects the mapping problem but does not automatically extend ARCserve's default limitation. Users must manually modify the file $ARC_HOME/config/asmediad.cfg to extend this limitation if the system has more than 10 SCSI devices. Download the update file from one of the following locations: http://support.dell.com http://support.ca.com Follow the instructions included with the update to complete the installation. ======================================================================= Information in this document is subject to change without notice.
